Most people think that living in Japan is an adventure filled with suspense, drama, romance and non-stop excitement like I stepped out of America and straight into a samurai film. But for the most part, my life here is pretty normal – I go to work every day just like I did back in the States, and when I get home, I’m usually ready to just kick back and watch TV or play games when I’m not busy boning up on my Japanese. However, I do occasionally take trips when school’s out, with Kanazawa in Ishikawa prefecture being one of my favorites, but the beginning of May signaled the start of Golden Week, four consecutive holidays that are the equivalent of Spring Break minus the MTV specials.
