Ever since Sony entertainment announced the award winning global warfare game Planetside2 was going to release for PS4 at E3 2013, I have been hooked. I’ve followed every news update, every gameplay review, and every last gameplay update. Some of you might be saying “why get so worked up over another fps” well this fps is something entirely different from the usual games we are accustomed to on console. First off the game is an open world, so we don’t go in the usual format of match, stop, other match, stop, and so on and so forth. This means you can play a match then move around the world to find where you want to go next or where you are needed most, second the games has 12,000 player servers!!!! that means you could have fights with thousands of people fighting at a time. that’s pretty impressive for a console game, it also boasts land, air, sea, and space combat. there is an instance where you will see two super dreadnoughts battle each other above the planet Auraxis and its all player controlled that can hold up to 400 players at a time. Now with something this amazing they first announced that the game would be released two weeks after the release of the PS4, then SONY delayed which was understandable because 4 months to develop something this big for consoles can’t be easy. they then announced that the game would release early 2014, and not long after a confirmed May 26th release so at this time they would have been developing for at least 10 months, then shockingly on Friday May 17th, they again delayed the game saying its not quite ready. IGN and Sony now say that the game will officially release on June 30th giving them about a years time to finish, but due to the rate things are going there is speculation there may be a DECEMBER 31ST release!!!!!!1 SONY please just gives a set time we can wait but only for so long.

  1. I’ve been running with some friends in PlanetSide 2 on PC for awhile now, and it’s been a lot of fun. It seems like a very complex control scheme to bring over to a console, but I look forward to seeing how the developers handle the challenge.

  2. Personally, I don’t follow video games to know of speculated release dates and delays and the like, but I think that the release date shouldn’t matter because delays mean that the company is attempting to make the game as good as possible and if that means that I have to wait a little longer then so be it.
